Established in 1930 by Gaston Hochar, Chateau Musar has to be one of the wine world’s most amazing stories. Although viticulture has been in evidence in Lebanon for 6000 years, the determination and passion of the Hochar family, particularly eldest son Serge, to produce Chateau Musar in one of the most war-torn areas of the Middle East is truly incredible.
Chateau Musar has not only survived, but has become one of the world’s most celebrated wines, with Serge Hochar becoming Decanter magazine’s inaugural “Wine Man of the Year” in 1984. In addition to the legendary Chateau Musar itself, we also stock Cuvee Musar, Chateau Musar’s younger, lighter second wine.
