Having bought Isabel Estate in 1982, initially to supply external wine producers with high quality grapes, Michael Tiller and his wife Robyn, so impressed with what they were managing to grow, took the next logical step of producing their own wines, with the first Isabel Estate vintage being released in 1994.
Situated in the Wairau Valley in Marlborough, Isabel Estate is bang in the heart of Sauvignon Blanc country and their own Isabel Estate Sauvignon Blanc has to rank as one of the finest the region has to offer (it’s certainly my favourite).
A combination of the most modern winery technology and the more traditional concerns of utmost respect for the soil and fruit mean that Isabel Estate’s wines are both intensely flavoured and yet display a subtlety and complexity second to none. Try the incredible, aromatic Isabel Estate Pinot Gris for further proof.
